2011 Leland Laser Regatta


Sat/Sun - July 16-17

 The Leland Yacht Club invites all Laser sailors to join us for a fun weekend of racing and camaraderie on beautiful Lake Leelanau in
Northwestern Michigan. The regatta features two days of racing and a Saturday night social event on the shores of Lake Michigan in
Historic Fishtown.

Again this year----Out of town sailors may request lodging with a Leland Yacht Club family-- space available.  Email Allen Northcutt if you want to stay with a Yacht club family.

2011 Leland Laser Regatta  Saturday July 16 and Sunday July 17

Rules: RRS, USSA Prescriptions, Laser Class rules, SI’s
Advertising: RRS category B Regatta
Scoring: RRS A2 low point system.  Seven races planned, but more may be sailed, time permitting. There will be a throwout if more than
five races are sailed.


Awards:  First three A and B Fleets, and first Apprentice (35-44), Master (45-54), Grand Master (55-64),  Great Grand Master (65+), Junior and Female.  Individual award categories may be dropped or modified based on the number of preregistered entrants in each category.

 

Schedule:

   Saturday – 11:00-12:00 Registration
                     - 12:30 Skippers’ meeting
                     - 1:30 warning signal for first race
   Sunday    - 10:30 warning signal for first race

NO RACES WILL BE STARTED AFTER 2:30 ON SUNDAY

Registration entry fee is $50 and includes Saturday Hors d’Oeuvres ( cash bar and dinner on your own) at The Cove restaurant, Sunday continental breakfast and lunch for one person.

Directions:  Take M-22 from the south into Leland.  Turn right at the Post Office onto Pearl St.  Go less than one mile where road turns abruptly to the right at the launching ramp and becomes Juniper Trail.  The Leland Yacht Club is about 100 yards down Juniper Trail on the right (small building on the right).
